Box Score 2 NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich volleyball team split a pair
of GNAC matches at Andrews Hall during NU's Homecoming
weekend on Saturday.
The Cadets (13-7, 3-2 GNAC) rolled in the opening match,
sweeping St. Joseph's (Conn.) by scores of 25-12, 25-8 and
25-23.
Senior Keira Holmes had 22 assists and 15 digs
to lead NU, while senior Thea Evans added eight
kills and eight digs.
Senior Jessica Bielski tallied nine digs and
junior April Byllaardt added four service aces to
round out the Cadets' offensive leaders.
NU couldn't carry the momentum into their second match
however, as Mount Ida (14-5, 3-2 GNAC) swept the Cadets by scores
25-21, 25-16 and 25-15.
Evans had six kills, six assists and 11 digs to lead the Cadets,
while Holmes added nine assists and 14 digs.
Junior Ivana Batur had 13 digs and junior
Brittany Palmer tallied four service aces for
NU.
The Cadets continue their home stand on Monday night when they
host Simmons at 7 p.m.
