Box Score NEWTON, Mass. – After dropping the first two sets of
Wednesday afternoon's match against Lasell, the Norwich women's
volleyball rallied to a dramatic 3-2 win to steal a Great Northeast
Athletic Conference match on the Lasers' home floor.
Norwich (17-7, 6-2 GNAC) used a balanced offense with five
players recording double-digit kills to win by scores of 24-26,
23-25, 25-13, 25-16, and 15-10.
Senior Molly Rice
led the Cadets' rally charge with 40 assists, 24 digs and 11 kills.
Fellow senior Thea Evans
added 14 kills, 31 digs, and six service aces.
Junior Ivana
Batur tallied 13 kills and 13 digs while junior
Brittany
Palmer had 11 kills and 19 digs.
April
Byllaardt posted 11 kills and three digs as well to
round out the Cadets' stat leaders.
Norwich has now won four straight matches heading into a crucial
weekend tri-match against conference-leading Johnson & Wales
(20-9, 10-0 GNAC) and third-place Emerson (18-8, 7-1 GNAC). The
Cadets face J&W at noon and Emerson at 2 p.m. in Boston.
