Game One Box Score
Game Two Box Score

LYNDON CENTER Vt.- Jordan Barnes' three-run pinch-hit home run in the bottom of the sixth capped an eight-run rally that propelled Lyndon State College to a 9-6 come-from-behind victory over Norwich University, in the nightcap of a non-league doubleheader held at LSC's Skip Pound Field Thursday afternoon.

Trailing 6-1, the Hornets sent 12 men to the plate in the sixth to secure the win. Michael Johnson had a two-run double to knot the score at 6-6, before Barnes, who was pinch-hitting for Eric Durocher, swatted his game-winning homer over the fence in left-center field. Zach Maerder had three hits for Lyndon and Ryan Wimble chipped in two doubles.

Sam Matthews, who relieved starter Jesse Ballard in the fourth, was credited with the win, allowing only one earned run on three hits in 3.1 innings of work. He struck out six Cadets, while walking just one.

Joe Sleeman had three hits, and Mitch Blair added two for Norwich. Ryan Kelly, the second of three Norwich pitchers in the game, took the loss.

In the opener, Maerder and Stetson Hicks collected two hits each to back the three-hit pitching of Josh Fletcher as Lyndon State recorded a 3-1 win. Fletcher went the distance, allowing no earned runs while fanning seven and walking two.

Travis Dyke, Dustin Fleming and Aron Sweder had one hit each for Norwich, and Ian Caird absorbed the loss. He allowed one earned run on six hits while striking out three and walking two in five and one-third innings of work.

Lyndon State ends its season with an overall record of 9-27-1, while Norwich finishes with a mark of 3-28-1.
