COCOA BEACH, Fla. - The Norwich University
baseball team was swept in a doubleheader by Gettysburg on Friday
at the Cocoa Beach Expo, losing the first game, 7-0, and dropping
the nightcap, 11-0.
In game one, Don Dibastiani (0-1) gave up two runs in three
innings of work. Seth Knihtila came on in relief and yielded four
runs over three innings. Kyle Lighter pitched the seventh inning
and gave up just one run.
Offensively, James Ramsay and Greg Pawluk each went 1-for-3,
while Tyler Riel was 1-for-2.
In the second game, Emilio Martinez (0-1) was touched for eight
runs in two innings as Gettysburg jumped all over the Cadets (0-5).
Austin Shaw pitched four innings in relief and gave up three runs.
Ramsay went 1-for-1 in the nightcap, while Rob Knox and Travis
Dyke were both 1-for-3. Joe Sleeman and Sean Stone, meanwhile, each
went 1-for-4.
Norwich returns to action at the Cocoa Expo on Saturday, March
14, when the Cadets face Oneonta State in a doubleheader beginning
at 10 a.m.
