BOSTON - The Norwich University volleyball team
concluded its 2009 regular season with a 3-2 loss to Simmons
College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match. The
Sharks won by set scores of 25-20, 18-25, 25-22, 11-25 and 15-10.
The Cadets (17-11, 6-6 GNAC) were led by junior Molly Rice, who
posted a double-double with 28 assists and 10 digs. Senior Lisset
Magdaleno chipped in 10 kills, while sophomore April Byllaardt
added six kils and four blocks. Sophomore Brittany Palmer recorded
seven service aces and nine digs.
Norwich will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 3, when the
Cadets play a GNAC Tournament quarterfinal match as the No. 7 seed.
NU's opponent in that game is still to be determined.
