Norwich University Cadets, 2-1, Friday evening in an ECAC
East-NESCAC Interlock men's ice hockey game at Kreitzberg Arena.
Norwich (5-4-2, 3-2-1 ECAC East) dominated the first period,

past Barchard, and the game went into the second stanza deadlocked
at 0-0.
Tufts (6-3-0, 3-2-0 NESCAC) broke the scoreless tie midway
through the second period when Zach Diaco scored a power play goal
at the 11:56 mark. Mike Vitale and Wilson were credited with
assists on the goal, which gave the Jumbos a 1-0 lead. Less than
five minutes later, Tufts doubled its lead when Wilson scored on a
two-on-one breakaway. Tom Derosa stole the puck at the Tufts
blueline and skated down the right side of the ice before feeding
Wilson who beat Norwich goaltender David Thompson. Derosa and Andy
Davis were credited with assists on the play.
Norwich outshot Tufts 12-8 in the middle frame, but the Cadets
were again stymied by Barchard, who made several impressive saves
in the period.

Tufts 17-1. The Cadets finally broke through when Rico Piatelli
scored off assists from Chad Anderson and Tyler Stitt at the 17:18

start the third period in place of Thompson, with 1:46 to play. The
Cadets generated two or three quality scoring chances with the
extra attacker, but were not able to push across the equalizer.

0-for-5 on the power play, while the Jumbos were 1-for-4 with the
