PLYMOUTH, N.H. -Kelsey Cone, Jaclyn Cleugh and
Felicia Desorcie each scored two goals apiece as the Norwich
University women's ice hockey team skated past Plymouth State
University, 11-0, in an ECAC East women's ice hockey game Friday
evening at Waterville Valley Ice Arena.
Cone also collected three assists and Cleugh added one for the
Cadets, who improved to 6-7-0 overall (5-5-0 ECAC East). Sophie
Leclerc added a goal and three assists for the winners.
Also scoring for Norwich were Shannon Silver, Ashley Cassan,
Amanda Wilks and Melissa Rundlett.
The Cadets exploded for five goals in the first period. They
added three more in the second and third periods to account for the
final margin.
Norwich goaltender Chiara Traversa made 13 saves in the Norwich
net to post her second shutout of the season.
Norwich outshot Plymouth State, 63-13. The Cadets were
1-for-5 on the power play, while the Panthers went 0-for-4 with the
man advantage.
With the loss, Plymouth State falls to 0-11-0 (0-8-0 ECAC East).
Norwich returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 17, when the Cadets
make the trek to Portland, Maine, to battle ECAC East rival
Southern Maine at 1 p.m.
