and they settled for a 6-0 lead.
Norwich added to its lead early in the second quarter when
Jackson scored on a six-yard touchdown run. Junior QB Chris Gilding
hooked up with freshman WR Ryan Jacobs for the two-point conversion
to push NU's lead to 14-0 at the 14:33 mark.
Neither team was able to score over the final 14 minutes of the
second stanza, and the Cadets took a 14-0 lead into halftime.

half, Norwich took the ball and marched down the field for another
touchdown. Jackson capped the drive when he broke off a 56-yard
touchdown run. NU's extra point attempt was blocked, and the Cadets
settled for a 20-0 lead with 11:41 to play in the third quarter.
St. Lawrence (0-2) scored its first points of the day later in
the third quarter as Eric Jones capped a 61-yard drive with a
five-yard touchdown run. The extra point attempt was good, and the
Saints trimmed Norwich's lead to 20-7 at the 4:11 mark.
Jackson capped the scoring with 3:28 to play in the fourth
quarter as he eluded several tacklers and scampered 26 yards for
his third touchdown of the game.
One week after forcing seven turnovers at Mount Ida, the NU
defense had four takeaways this afternoon. Senior LB Jim Kiritsy
led the unit with 10 tackles on the afternoon.
