WATERVILLE, Maine - The Colby College men's
hockey team blanked sixth-ranked Norwich University, 4-0, on Friday
night at Alfond Rink, sending the Cadets to their first shutout
loss of the season.
Colby improves to 13-8-1 (12-5-1 NESCAC), while Norwich falls to
18-6-0 (14-4-0 ECAC East).
Colby first-year goalie Cody McKinney earned his first
collegiate shutout with 36 saves. McKinney moved his record to
13-6-1 and has allowed just 13 goals in the last nine games.
Jared Crittenden tallied his second goal of the season at the
11:00 mark in the first period to put Colby in front 1-0.
Jeoffrey Jarnot made it 2-0 at 13:49 of the second period, and
the Mules took their 2-0 lead into the third stanza.
Colby added two more goals in the third period from Mike
Policinski and Arthur Fritch.
It marks the first time that Norwich has been shutout since
losing to Oswego State, 3-0, in last season's NCAA quarterfinals.
Norwich wraps up its regular season on Saturday, Feb. 23, when
the Cadets take on No. 11 Bowdoin at 4 p.m. The game can be heard
