NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Chris Prybella and Pete Bue
each won three individual swimming events, but it was not enough as
the Norwich University men's swimming and diving team dropped a
153-127 decision to visiting St. Michael's College Wednesday
evening at Goodyear Pool.
Norwich (1-2) and St. Michael's split the 16 events, but it was
the Purple Knights' depth that helped them to secure the victory.
Prybella won the 100-yard freestyle (48.10 seconds), 200 free
(1:48.46) and the 100-yard individual medley (57.45). Bue,
meanwhile, won the 50-yard backstroke (26.09), 100 back (56.22) and
50 free (22.88).
Joe Moeller won the 100-yard butterfly (57.15) to round out NU's
list of individual wins on the day. The Cadets' 200-yard medley
relay team also won gold.
Austin Bell won a pair of events in the pool, and Jake Stamas
swept the two diving events to lead the Purple Knights.
The Cadets will not return to action until after the semester
break when they welcome Bates and New England College to Goodyear
Pool on Saturday, Jan. 10.
