NEWTON, Mass. - The Norwich University
volleyball team won its sixth straight match on Saturday afternoon,
defeating Great Northeast Athletic Conference rival Lasell. The
Cadets had a stern test from the Lasers, winning by scores of
25-23, 26-24 and 25-21.
Norwich (12-1, 5-1 GNAC) was led by sophomore Molly Rice, who
dished out a team-best 30 assists and also posted 18 digs. Junior
Lisset Magdaleno tallied a team-high 13 kills to go along with 20
digs. Sophomore Keira Holmes chipped in a team-leading 21 digs,
while freshman Brittany Palmer added 19 digs.
Alicia Chamness contributed a double-double with 12 kills and 14
digs, while freshman April Byllaardt had a team-high five service
aces.
Norwich returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 7, when the Cadets
host arch-rival Middlebury at Andrews Hall. First serve is slated
for 7 p.m.
