NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University
volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to visiting Plymouth State
in a non-league match Wednesday evening at Andrews Hall. The
Panthers swept the Cadets, winning by set scores of 25-18, 25-23
and 25-15.
Norwich (13-4) was led by junior Lisset Magdaleno, who smacked
down a team-best eight kills to go along with 13 digs, three blocks
and two service aces. Sophomore Molly Rice recorded a double-double
with a team-high 18 assists and a team-best 14 digs.
Sophomore Alicia Chamness contributed three kills and 13 digs,
while freshman Brittany Palmer tallied 10 digs. Fellow freshman
April Byllaardt chipped in five kills, six digs, two blocks and two
service aces.
Norwich returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 21, when the Cadets
travel to Castleton, Vt., to tangle with in-state rival Castleton
State. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
