BOSTON - Iman Davis led three Saints in double
figures with a game-high 21 points to lead Emmanuel to a 79-46 win
over visiting Norwich in GNAC women's basketball action on Thursday
night.
With this win, the Saints improve to 13-5 (7-0 GNAC). The
Cadets, meanwhile, fall to 5-13 (4-3 GNAC).
Norwich played Emmanuel tough throughout the first half,
trailing the Saints, 35-32, at the intermission. The opening stanza
was a back-and-forth affair that featured two ties and six lead
changes.
Emmanuel turned it on in the second half, though, outscoring the
Cadets, 44-14, in the frame.
Kristin LeBel added 16 points for Emmanuel, while Brittany
Bushman chipped in 11 points.
Kylie Cowens led Norwich with a team-high nine points. The
Cadets also got eight points and a team-high four assists from
Natalie Marchese. Four players grabbed five rebounds apiece for the
Cadets.
NU shot just 25.4 percent from the field for the game. The
Cadets made just 5-of-32 shots from the floor after halftime (15.6
percent). Emmanuel, meanwhile, shot 44.4 percent from the field for
the game. The Saints cashed in on 18-of-35 shots following
intermission (51.4 percent).
Emmanuel outrebounded Norwich, 53-40. The Saints scored 20
points off 19 Norwich turnovers. They also outscored the Cadets,
38-16, in the paint. EC held a 15-3 edge in fast break points as
well.
NU returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 2, when the Cadets host
GNAC opponent Johnson & Wales at Andrews Hall at 1 p.m.
