BABSON PARK, Mass. - Chris Prybella won three
individual events in the pool to lead the Norwich men's swimming
and diving team to a 159-113 victory over Babson on Saturday
afternoon. The Cadets improve to 6-3 on the season with the
victory.
Prybella began his day with a victory in the 50-yard freestyle,
touching the wall in a winning time of 22.11. The junior from
Philadelphia, Pa., then went on to win the 100-yard freestyle
(48.73) and the 100-yard individual medley (58.61).
Ben Courtney had a hand in three wins in the pool as well. The
senior team captain from Underhill, Vt., took home gold in the
100-yard backstroke (56.59) and 200-yard freestyle (1:51.69)
individually. Courtney then teamed with Kyle Kenia, Nick Palluth
and Brian Kamp to win the 200-yard freestyle relay with a clocking
of 1:36.70.
Joe Moeller won a pair of events as well, taking the first-place
ribbon in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.89) and the 400-yard
individual medley (4:30.16).
Kenia, Peter Bue and Ari Polivy each chipped in an individual
victory as well. Kenia placed first in the 500-yard freestyle
(5:12.29), Bue took gold in the 50-yard butterfly (25.82) and
Polivy was first in the 50-yard breaststroke (32.22).
Norwich returns to the friendly confines of Goodyear Pool on
Saturday, when the Cadets host Gordon and Elms at 1 p.m. and 4
p.m., respectively.
