NORTHFIELD, Vt. –The Norwich volleyball team suffered its third straight defeat, dropping a heartbreaking 3-2 decision to Lasell in a GNAC match played Saturday afternoon at Andrews Hall. With the loss, NU's record dips to 7-3 (2-1 GNAC).
Norwich won the first game of the match, 30-17, but the Cadets dropped the second game, 30-26. After winning game three, 30-28, NU fell 30-16 in the fourth game, and dropped the deciding game, 15-5.
Alicia Chamness and Molly Rice each produced a double-double to lead the Cadets. Chamness slammed a team-best 13 kills and recorded 19 digs, while Rice added team highs of 38 assists and 21 digs.
Ami Fuller and Lisset Magdaleno added 11 kills apiece for NU.
Norwich returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 2, when the Cadets host Johnson & Wales in a GNAC match. First serve from Andrews Hall is slated for 6 p.m.
