NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Joe Moeller and Chris
Prybella each had a hand in three wins in the pool to help lead the
Norwich men's swimming and diving team past SUNY Potsdam, 161-134,
on Saturday at Goodyear Pool. The Cadets, who defeated Colby-Sawyer
last weekend, improve to 2-0 on the young season.
Moeller picked up victories in the 200-yard butterfly (2:10.26)
and the 200-yard IM (2:11.95). Prybella, meanwhile, doubled with
wins in the 50-yard freestyle (22.38) and the 100-yard freestyle
49.76). The duo then paired with Ben Courtney and Renat Fatkulin to
help NU take gold in the 400-yard medley relay with a clocking of
3:51.60.
Other winners in the pool for the Cadets included Kyle Kenia,
Coutney and Peter Bue. Kenia won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a
time of 11:06.74), Courtney triumphed in the 200-yard backstroke
(2:09.93) and Bue touched the wall first in the 500-yard freestyle
(5:19.08).
To date, 10 members of the NU women's swimming and diving team
have qualified for the New England Championships, while five others
have qualified provisionally for that event.
The Norwich men's swimming and diving team returns to the pool
on Saturday, Nov. 10, when the Cadets host Keene State at 1 p.m.
