NORTHFIELD, Vt. –The Norwich volleyball team fell to Johnson & Wales, 3-0, Tuesday evening in a GNAC match played at Andrews Hall. With the loss, the Cadets fall to 7-4 (2-2 GNAC). Johnson & Wales (14-8, 6-0 GNAC) won by game scores of 30-17, 30-27 and 20-17.
Freshman setter Molly Rice led the way statistically for NU, recording a double-double of 18 assists and 11 digs. Fellow freshman Alicia Chamness produced a team-best 11 kills, while Lisset Magdaleno chipped in with 11 digs. Keira Holmes added 10 digs for the Cadets, who fought hard to the final point.
Norwich returns to the court on Saturday, Oct. 6, when the Cadets travel to Newton Centre, Mass., for a pair of GNAC contests. NU will face Albertus Magnus at 12 p.m., before taking on Mount Ida at 2 p.m.
