COLCHESTER, Vt. – Saint Michael's College (3-1) defeated Norwich University (0-3) in straight sets by scores of 30-24, 30-14, and 30-19 in volleyball action on Wednesday at the Ross Sports Center.
The Purple Knights were led by junior Leslie Herwig (Kingston, N.Y./Kingston) who had a game high 11 kills, and also supplied a game high eight service aces. Sophomore Amy Manougian (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) contributed 27 assists and four digs and classmate Stephanie Bambury (Reading, Mass./Reading) helped with a team high six digs.
For the Cadets, senior Melissa Latshaw (Danielville, Pa.) had a team high eight kills, while teammates Sarah Brooks (Suffolk, Va.) and Nicole Kasanoff (Quincy, Mass.) posted 13 and 15 digs, respectively.
Norwich will host a quad match on Saturday starting at 11:00 a.m. The Cadets will welcome Castleton State, Green Mountain, and St. Joseph-VT to Andrews Hall.
