Greg McGrath embarks on his fourth season at the helmof the Norwich University softball program. Last year, McGrathguided the Cadets to the program's best record since2004.
NU finished 21-16 overall last season and 15-11 in GNACplay in 2012. They also returned to the GNAC Tournament after aone-year hiatus where they advanced to the final six before beingeliminated with back-to-back losses to Simmons and St. Joseph(Conn.).
McGrath has compiled a 44-62 mark over his first three seasons,including make playoff appearances in two of those seasons.
In his first season leading NU, the Cadets finished 9-15 in GNACplay in 2010 and pulled a first round upset of Lasell in the GNACTournament to advance to the semifinals before bowing out.
McGrath is a 2001 graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh where he doublemajored in politcal science and criminal justice.
He also did his graduate work at SUNY Plattsburghand received a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies, Leadership &Administration degree in 2003.
McGrath started working at Norwich in August 2005 and wasa Vermont ASA umpire for two years from 2008-2009.
He also serves as the Director of Student Activities atNorwich and the Wise Campus Center.
