Levy Gillespie II enters his fourth season as an assistant coach of the men's basketball team in 2024-25.

Gillespie II recently aided the Cadets to one of their most successful seasons in program history, finishing 18-9 overall with a 9-5 mark in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play.  The Cadets topped Lasell on the road, 68-67, in the GNAC Quarterfinals before falling to eventual conference champions University of Saint Joseph in the GNAC Semifinals.  The Cadets were honored with two GNAC All-Conference recipients, headlined by Owen Liss '25, landing on the All-Conference First Team.

Gillespie came to Norwich after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater Post University in Waterbury, Conn. Gillespie helped guide the Eagles to a 19-10 record during their last full season of competition in 2019-20. He has served as an AAU coach with the Windsor (Conn.) basketball club.

Gillespie spent three seasons at Post, averaging seven points a game as a senior. He also served as a team captain in his final season as an Eagle, leading the team to 10 victories. Before transferring to Post, Gillespie started his collegiate basketball career at the University of New Haven. 

Gillespie played and coached under former Norwich University assistant men's basketball coach Marc Kuntz, who spent three seasons in Northfield and had a large part in bringing in the recruiting classes that led the Cadets to back-to-back GNAC Tournament titles in 2005 and 2006. Kuntz has served as the Post University head men's basketball coach since 2016. 

Gillespie earned his Bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Post in 2019. He also earned a Master's of Business Administration in 2020.
