John Roberts was named head coach of the Norwich University men's golf program in 2025. He brings a diverse coaching and playing background across multiple sports to the Cadets' program, joining Norwich after a successful season on the men’s ice hockey coaching staff at Stevenson University.

Roberts takes the helm of a growing Norwich golf program that earned a fourth-place finish at the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships under his predecessor Cam Clarke. The team was highlighted by Second Team All-Conference selection and two-sport standout Cooper Bertrand.

A native of Lansdale, Pa., Roberts has a long history in golf, both as a player and instructor. He competed growing up at Pinecrest Country Club and has held roles at several Wisconsin-based clubs, including youth instruction, course management, and groundskeeping.

In addition to his golf responsibilities, Roberts will also serve as an assistant coach for the men’s ice hockey team and goaltending coach for both the men’s and women’s programs.

Roberts holds a bachelor's degree from St. Norbert College, where he was a goaltender for three seasons after beginning his collegiate career at Division I Northern Michigan. He later joined the staff at Stevenson under Norwich alum Dominick Dawes '04, helping guide the Mustangs to their first-ever NCAA Tournament berth in 2025.

"I look forward to helping our student-athletes perform to the best of their abilities on the course, on the ice, and in the classroom," Roberts said.
