Fred Coan enters another season as the Rink Manager for Kreitzberg Arena in 2025–26.

Coan plays a pivotal role at Kreitzberg Arena, overseeing all scheduling of ice times while ensuring the quality of the ice surface and overall facility maintenance. He also manages a dedicated support staff responsible for a range of daily operations throughout the venue.

In addition to his facility leadership, Coan brings an extensive background in coaching. He served 13 seasons as an assistant coach with the Norwich University men’s ice hockey program, including nine years under legendary head coach Mike McShane and three years alongside Bill Cahill prior to McShane’s arrival. His work behind the bench helped cement Norwich’s reputation as one of the premier programs in NCAA Division III hockey.

Coan also spent a decade as an assistant coach at Wesleyan University, a member of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC), and directed the goaltending program at the prestigious Exeter Hockey School in New Hampshire for nearly 20 years during the summer months.

A former collegiate goaltender himself, Coan graduated from Middlebury College in 1977, where he was a key contributor between the pipes for the Panthers. His lifelong involvement in the sport has made him a valuable presence both on and off the ice, and he continues to impact the student-athlete experience at Norwich through his work at Kreitzberg Arena.

Coan resides on Kalico Farm in Northfield, Vermont.
