Baylee Annis '14 enters her second season as the head coach of the women's rugby team in 2024-25.

Annis brought success to the Cadets in her first season at the helm, leading the 15's squad to a hard-fought victory over the University of New Haven in October to achieve her first victory as head coach of Norwich.  In the 7's season in the spring, Annis and the Cadets proved victorious over the University of New England to claim the Chris Munn 7's Championship before closing the season with another win over UNE to win the Polar Bear 7's Tournament.

An all-time great in women's rugby at Norwich, Annis was a six-time National Champion, including five titles in Div. I and one in Div. I.  She finished her career with 69 caps, was a Div. I USA Rugby All-American in 2012-13, and was also a Div. I USA Rugby Collegiate All-American and AIG All-American following the 2013-14 season.  She was a member of the National U-20 Women's Team and Northeast U23 All-Stars.

During her time on the pitch, the women's rugby program went 100-9, which included a perfect 40-0 season in 2013-14.  Annis was a member of two NU Athletic Hall of Fame teams.
 
Since graduating from Norwich, her career has continued as a combination of academics and athletics.  Annis got her Master of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from SUNY Cortland. She attained her National Council on Strength & Fitness certification as a Certified Personal Trainer and earned USA Rugby Coaching Level 200.

Annis was most recently the Head Women's Rugby Coach for American University, where the team won the Capital Conference championship.  Simultaneously, Annis was also the Life Skills & Academic Coach at Mansfield Hall, where she helped teach life skills and community engagement and brought academic support to collegiate students.  Before being named the Head Women's Rugby Coach at American University, Annis was the Head Women's Rugby Coach at Paul Smith's College.  While at Paul Smith's College, she was also the Vermont High School Rugby Camp Scrum and Defense Coach.

For over a decade, Annis has continued to work to improve the game of rugby in a variety of different roles, including being a board member for the Can-Am Rugby Tournament (2017-19) as well as the Mountaineers Rugby Board (2018-22) where she also served as secretary. Since 2021, Annis has also been a Team USA Athlete Panelist.  Annis was a part of the USA Rugby National Team from 2012-17 and was selected for the 2017 World Cup.Â
