Joe Salatel enters his third season as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Norwich University in 2025–26.

Salatel serves as the primary athletic trainer for men’s and women’s rugby (15s and 7s), along with the men's and women's wrestling programs. He plays a key role in supporting athlete wellness and performance throughout the year.

Before arriving at Norwich, Salatel worked as a casual call athletic trainer at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. During his time in Pittsburgh, he also served as a teaching assistant in exercise physiology. His experience includes internships with the University of Clemson men’s basketball team, the University of Notre Dame strength and conditioning staff, and the University at Albany strength and conditioning program. As an undergraduate, his clinical athletic training experience spanned the college, prep school, and high school levels.

A 2021 graduate of Springfield College, Salatel earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Exercise Science and Athletic Training. He was a three-time NEWMAC Academic All-Conference honoree as a college football student-athlete and was recognized by the National Football Foundation’s Hampshire Honor Society following his senior season.

Salatel holds athletic training licensure in Vermont, Pennsylvania, and New York, and maintains several certifications, including ATC Certified Athletic Trainer, CSCS Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, CPR/AED through the American Heart Association, and FMS Functional Movement Screen.
