Stefan Kunkoski joined the Norwich University athletic department as its head strength and conditioning coach in January 2020 and manages the S & C programming for all 20 varsity sports programs.

Kunkoski spent the previous three years at the helm of the Queens College strength and conditioning program which oversaw 17 NCAA Division II sports. At Queens, Kunkoski administrated the strength and conditioning programming for all student-athletes which included providing information regarding nutrition. He was a vital component of the revitalization of the varsity weight room to improve its usability, attractiveness and safety conditions. He also integrated the coverage of student-athlete success within his program into recruiting efforts and sponsorships through the use of social media. Through his tenure, five teams earned a berth in NCAA championship tournaments.

Before his work at Queens, Kunkoski served as an NCAA Division I assistant strength and conditioning coach at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. At Morgan State, he executed strength and conditioning programs for football, men’s basketball and volleyball. He additionally designed and implemented strength and conditioning programs for the softball, men’s and women’s tennis and women’s basketball teams. The Morgan State cheerleading teams finished second in the MEAC in 2009 and were MEAC Champions in 2010 and 2011.

Aside from his employment within collegiate athletics, Kunkoski has also worked as a personal trainer and led the strength and conditioning program at the high school level. At Glenpointe Spa & Fitness in Teaneck, N.J., he implemented programs while evaluating fitness and health goals of members and providing education on the proper use of equipment. As the head strength and conditioning coach at Riverdale Country School, he designed and implemented strength and conditioning programs for football, volleyball, boys’ and girls’ basketball, boys’ lacrosse, baseball, softball, crew, and squash.

Kunkoski earned a Bachelor of Science from Towson University in 1999 and received a master's degree in exercise science from McDaniel College in 2006.

He is CPR/AED certified by the American Red Cross and holds certification as a Strength and Condition Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also certified as a Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association.

Stefan and his family reside in the Northfield community.
