Mark Chadason joined the Norwich University cross country coaching staff before the 2025 season as an assistant coach, bringing a lifelong passion for running and a wealth of competitive, coaching, and leadership experience.
A former NCAA Division III student-athlete, Chadason competed in cross country, track, and swimming, helping his team win a conference championship and qualify for the Division III National Championships. Beyond collegiate athletics, he captured the National Junior Championship in modern pentathlon — a grueling five-sport event in which running is a key component — and earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic National Team, competing in the U.S. Olympic Trials.
Chadason served 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring as a lieutenant colonel, and later held senior leadership roles in the Central Intelligence Agency as a member of the Senior Intelligence Service. His coaching background includes guiding the Camp Pendleton cross country team to its first-ever military championship.
In addition to his athletic and military accomplishments, Chadason is a serial entrepreneur in the defense and intelligence technology sector, having founded, grown, and sold multiple companies. He currently leads a specialized communications firm serving national security clients.
Chadason's wife is Sara, and they have two grown daughters.
