Marc Kolb serves as the Associate Vice President of Campus and Athletic Communications at Norwich University, where he leads a unified, strategic vision for storytelling that spans the institution’s academic and athletic missions. He is part of the team leading the evolution of Norwich’s communications approach with clarity and vision, aligning storytelling efforts across campus and athletics to elevate the University’s brand, engage prospective students, and celebrate the achievements of the Norwich community.
Among Kolb’s most impactful contributions has been the transformation of the University’s Athletic Center into a vibrant, storytelling-focused recruiting space. Over an 18-month period, he spearheaded a comprehensive branding initiative that reimagined the facility as more than just a venue for competition—it became a canvas for history, achievement, and possibility. The project visually celebrates the student-athlete experience, showcases a rich tapestry of championship moments and service-driven alumni, and underscores Norwich’s unique role as a senior military college. The display now serves as a key stop on all campus tours, reinforcing the University’s values and impact for every prospective student and family.
In November 2022, Kolb was named Director of Athletic Communications, where he quickly began aligning messaging and elevating visibility for Norwich’s then 22 varsity athletic programs. Just over a year later, in December 2023, he was promoted to the newly created role of Director of Campus and Athletic Communications—merging two formerly separate functions into a single, coordinated unit responsible for university-wide content strategy and storytelling. Kolb was elevated to Associate Vice President of Campus and Athletic Communications in March 2025. He now leads a growing team of communication professionals across campus, charged with advancing the University’s mission, reinforcing its brand, and connecting Norwich’s enduring legacy to its bold future.
Kolb’s transition into institutional communications follows a distinguished 28-year career in collegiate football coaching, including 25 years as an offensive coordinator across multiple levels of college football. His offenses were widely known for their innovation and explosiveness, collectively setting 24 NCAA national records, 6 NAIA records, 2 All-Division records, and tying 1 All-Division national record. He helped guide numerous student-athletes to their highest levels of success, including 18 All-Americans, 6 Conference Player of the Year award winners (five different players), 4 Academic All-Americans, a Conference Freshman of the Year, a Conference Rookie of the Year, and the Gridiron Club of Boston Offensive Player of the Year for Division II/Division III.
Arriving at Norwich University in 2019 as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Kolb quickly made an impact on the gridiron. He helped elevate the play of standout Cadets including Trevor Chase ’23 and Manni Romero. Chase, who rewrote much of the Norwich receiving record book, was named the 2019 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Rookie of the Year and later earned the 2022 NEWMAC Offensive Player of the Year honor—the first in program history. Romero also made history as the recipient of the 2019 Joe Zablinski Award from the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston, recognizing him as New England’s top Division II/III offensive player.
Kolb continues to engage with the Cadet community on multiple levels. He remains the play-by-play voice for Norwich football and has also lent his voice to broadcasts for men’s and women’s basketball. His deep understanding of athletics and his genuine enthusiasm for the student experience bring a personal touch to every game day production.
A 1994 graduate of Brown University, Kolb holds a degree in Sociology and was a multi-year starter on the football team. His academic and athletic foundation continues to shape his belief in the transformative power of the student experience—something he now helps to share every day at Norwich.
Kolb’s Norwich roots extend well beyond his professional role. He and his wife, Lisa, are proud Norwich parents three times over and their son-in-law is a Norwich grad as well. Their children—Matthew ’24, Hannah ’24, and William ’25—have each carved their own paths at the University. In 2024, just a few days after commencement, their daughter Hannah married fellow Norwich graduate Second Lieutenant August Guerrieri ’24 at White Memorial Chapel.
