Maki Shuchuk '18 enters her fourth season as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in 2024-25, after being hired as the first Assistant in university history in August of 2021.

Before Norwich, Shuchuk honed her expertise through various roles in the fitness and sports industry.  She notably contributed to Elite Hockey Camp starting in the summer of 2014, where she developed and implemented comprehensive fitness and nutrition plans, and led rigorous conditioning sessions and workouts.

Following her tenure at Elite Hockey Camp, Shuchuk expanded her experience at LocoFit Gym.  In this capacity, she was instrumental in designing engaging and effective workout programs and leading group fitness classes.  She also took a personalized approach to health, creating tailored training and nutrition plans for individual clients, ensuring their unique fitness goals were met.

In addition to her professional roles, Shuchuk is the founder of Strength Wins, an organization dedicated to offering customized fitness and nutrition strategies for its clients.  Through Strength Wins, she continues to impact the lives of many by promoting wellness and physical health.

Her academic and athletic background is equally impressive. Shuchuk graduated from Norwich University in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, complemented by a minor in Health and Coaching.  As an undergraduate, she was a member of the women’s hockey team and contributed significantly to their triumph in the 2017-18 National Championship.  Further demonstrating her leadership and commitment to student-athlete welfare, Shuchuk represented women’s hockey on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
