Jacqueline "Jackie" Patts '00 returned to her alma mater for a second stint as Head Coach of the Norwich University softball program ahead of the 2025 season, more than 15 years after her initial three-year run from 2007 to 2009.
Patts’s first tenure yielded over 50 wins across three seasons, highlighted by GNAC Tournament appearances and national statistical rankings in runs, home runs, triples, and slugging percentage. She helped guide five Cadets to All-Conference honors and built an identity around offensive firepower and team culture.
In her first season back in 2025, Patts helped mentor Madison DeCota and Maren McGinn to GNAC First Team selections — the program’s first top-line All-Conference picks since 2017.
As a student-athlete at Norwich, Patts was a three-year team captain and a First Team All-GNAC honoree in 2000. Her decorated career includes top-10 program rankings in career batting average (.423), hits (148), triples (12), RBIs (84), single-season slugging percentage (.811), and triples in a season (6, 5). She also won a GNAC Championship with the women’s basketball team in 2000.
Outside the diamond, Patts has built a strong background in youth mentorship and coaching across multiple sports. She spent nine years at Frederick Tuttle Middle School in South Burlington as a behavioral interventionist while also coaching field hockey, basketball, and softball. Her dedication to student-athlete development, both athletically and personally, remains central to her coaching philosophy.
