NORTHFIELD, Vt. — The Norwich University women's wrestling team split a tri-meet Saturday afternoon at Andrews Hall, falling to Felician, 30-20, before rebounding with a dominant 40-5 victory over Maine Maritime.
Norwich recorded nine falls across the two duals, with multiple Cadets earning bonus-point victories as the team closed the day on a strong note.
Felician 30, Norwich 20
Felician built an early advantage with wins at 103, 117, 131, 138, 145, and 207 pounds, including three falls in the middle weights. Norwich answered with key victories at 110, 124, 160, and 180.
Gianna Silva (Monroe, Conn.) (124) highlighted the Cadets' efforts with a fall over Liliana Zaku-Ramos at 4:20, while
Abbigale Williams (Andover, Vt.) (160) and
Ay'Seante Ross (Wilmington, N.C.) (180) added falls of their own.
Gianiece Cope (Bridgeport, Conn.) (110) earned a forfeit victory to open the scoring for Norwich.
Felician secured the dual behind falls at 117, 138, and 145, along with a technical fall in an exhibition bout at 110.

Norwich responded emphatically in the second dual, winning eight of the 10 contested bouts, all by fall or injury default.
The Cadets opened with three straight forfeit victories from
Samara Ducasse (Indianapolis, Ind.) (103),
Cope, and
Addisyn Herdic (Canterbury, Conn.) (117).
Silva (124) followed with a quick pin at 0:43, and
Charlii Carbajal Sanchez (Broomfield, Colo.) (138) added another forfeit win.
At 145,
Nalani Portela-Bailey (Cibolo, Texas) secured a fall at 5:43, while
Williams (160) pinned Mary Smith in 2:32.
Ana Lemler (Bourbon, Ind.) (207) closed the scoring with an injury default victory in just two seconds.
Maine Maritime's lone win came at 180 pounds.
