NORTHFIELD, Vt. — The Norwich Men's Wrestling team earned a pair of victories Saturday afternoon in a tri-meet at Andrews Hall, defeating Felician, 33-22, before closing the day with a 44-11 win over Maine Maritime, as they celebrated the four members of the 2025-26 graduating class.
Norwich won seven of 10 contested bouts against Felician, using bonus-point victories at the lower and upper weights to secure the team decision. The Cadets followed with eight wins against Maine Maritime, including six by bonus points, to complete the sweep.
Norwich 33, Felician 22
Norwich jumped out to an early lead with four straight wins to open the match.
Robby Lyons (Milford, Mass.) (125) set the tone with a 16-1 technical fall over Marcus Lowry, followed by
Carver Moyer (Easton, Pa.) (133) earning an 18-1 technical fall against Amando Herrera.
At 141 pounds,
Nicholas Berrena (State College, Pa.) picked up a forfeit before
William Burke (Palmer, Mass.) (149) extended the Cadets' lead with a 17-2 technical fall over Justin Fearon. Felician responded with three consecutive wins in the middle weights, including a fall at 157 and technical falls at 165 and 184.
Norwich sealed the dual in the final two bouts, as
Chris Folsom (Essex, Vt.) (197) pinned Ian Marcu in 2:10 before
Rory Nolan (Wadsworth, Ohio) (285) closed the match with a forfeit victory.
Norwich 44, Maine Maritime 11
The Cadets bounced back quickly in the second dual, winning eight of 10 bouts. Lyons (125) and Berrena (141) again earned forfeit victories, while Moyer (133) delivered a quick fall at 0:48 over Trevor Llewelyn.
After Maine Maritime took the lead at 149 with a fall, Norwich rattled off four straight wins.
Gannon White (Rincon, Ga.) (157) posted a dominant 22-4 technical fall,
Jonathan Neypes (Columbia, Md.) (165) and
Gabriel Moltumyr (Park Hill, Md.) (174) collected forfeits, and Folsom (197) added a 13-2 major decision.
At heavyweight,
Nolan capped the dual with a 21-6 technical fall over Takuma Steinberger.
Norwich also saw multiple bonus-point victories in the exhibition bouts, including falls by
Paul Sheehan (Marshfield, Mass.),
Caden Geanetta (Arvada, Colo.), and
Imari Milton (Miramar, Fla.).
Norwich returns to the mat Wednesday night, Feb. 4, when it holds its final home dual of the season against Plymouth State at 7:00 p.m. inside Plumley Armory.
