CASTINE, Maine- The Norwich Men's Wrestling team took to the road Saturday afternoon to take on the Maine Maritime Academy in their penultimate dual of the season where the Cadets dominated from start to finish.
Norwich opened competition with taking three of the five exhibition matches with
Ben Fournier (Hebron, Conn.) and
Josh Lister (North Andover, Mass.) securing pins with Lister's coming 49 seconds in, while
Connor Byers (Averill Park, N.Y.) closed out the exhibitions with a tech fall.
The main card opened with
Robby Lyons (Milford, Mass.) scoring a victory by fall at 125 pounds 1:41 in. Fournier followed that with his second win of the day, this one by forfeit, one of five for the Mariners in the meet. The other victories included a major decision by
Carver Moyer (Easton, Pa.) at 141-pounds, along with back-to-back tech falls for
Simon Taraska (Willowick, Ohio) at 174-pounds and
Gabe Moltumyr (Park Hill, Md.) at 184-pounds.
The Cadets will close out the dual meet portion of their schedule when they host Southern Maine inside Plumley Armory at 12 PM on Feb. 15 when they will celebrate senior day.
