General: Three Norwich Legends Named to Vermont Sports Hall of Fame Induction Class of 2025

BURLINGTON, Vt.- The Vermont Sports Hall of Fame announced its 2025 induction class Wednesday afternoon. This year's class includes three legends that have made their way through Norwich.

First is recently retired Head Coach of Norwich Baseball, Frank Pecora. Pecora spent the past 50 years coaching the sport of baseball in the town of Northfield, an illustrious career that included a .750 winning percentage and 15 state titles while coaching at Northfield High School. He spent the last nine years as the skipper for the Cadets, a tenure that included several All-Conference nominees, Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Coach of the Year honors in 2017, and leading Norwich to their most successful postseason run in program history in 2024.

The second former Cadet to be honored is former Men's Soccer coach Kyle Dezotell. After an illustrious playing career where he became one of the most prolific scorers in Middlebury Men's Soccer's history, he went on to coaching. After two seasons at Vermont State Johnson, Dezotell came to Norwich where he became the winningest coach in program history, accumulating 131 wins in 10 seasons, taking home three GNAC Coach of the Years three times, five GNAC Championship game appearances, and a Championship in 2008. He is currently the Head Coach at national powerhouse Tufts University.

Lastly, the Vermont Sports Hall of Fame recognized Lou DiMasi III for his accomplishments on the ice. The 2002-03 National Champion was a pillar of the Cadet blueline earning American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) First-Team All-American recognition in both his junior and senior seasons where he served as an assistant captain earning enshrinement in the Norwich Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. After playing professionally in several locations, DiMasi assumed the role of Head Men's Golf Coach at Saint Michael's College where he is now the Assistant Director of Student Activities Recreation and Fitness.

These three individuals will be officially inducted on Sat. April 25 at the Delta Marriott Hotel in South Burlington. They will be enshrined alongside other legends associated with Norwich such as George Commo, and Ed Hockenbury Sr.
