NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University women's lacrosse team endured a 17-1 defeat to Johnson & Wales University in a Great Northeast Athletic Confernece (GNAC) duel on Saturday afternoon on Sabine Field at Haynes Family Stadium.
Quinn Mustone (Medford, Mass.) logged the Cadets' goal, ripping an unassisted tally to kick off the fourth quarter.
The Wildcats set the tone early, collecting three goals in the opening five minutes, with two coming from Taina Gamory, to secure a 3-0 lead by the end of the first.
Johnson & Wales saw Gamory thread five goals in between the pipes, while Margaret Johnson recorded a hat trick.
Norwich forced 12 JWU turnovers, while scooping up 10 ground balls.
The Cadets will close out the two-game home-stand on Wednesday, Mar. 22, hosting in-state foe Castleton University at 7:00 p.m. on Sabine Field.
