NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University women's lacrosse team cruised to a 20-3 victory over the visiting Hornets of Lyndon State College on Monday afternoon at Sabine Field.

It was all Norwich from end-to-end, as the Cadets grabbed the lead early and never let the Hornets get close. The Cadets got the scoring going two and a half minutes into the game, with Kathryn Albretsen (Cotuit, Mass.) finding the back of the net for the first of what would be nine straight unanswered goals for Norwich. At the half, the maroon and gold had built a sizeable 14-2 advantage over the Hornets. 

The second half was much of the same as Norwich outscored the visitors 6-1 on their way to the 20-3 victory. 

Albretsen picked up four goals on the day, while Kathryn Preul (Scottsdale, Ariz.), Jordan Lutz (Hamburg, N.J.), and Meaghan McGrath (Barre, Vt.) all picked up hat tricks for the Cadets. Janice Bolton (Stow, Mass.) and Katie Bishop-Manning (New York, N.Y.) split the game in goal, combining for eight saves on 11 shots faced with Bolton picking up the win. 

The Cadets hit the road tomorrow as they dive back into Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play against the Simmons College Sharks, in a game slated to start at 6:00 PM.
