PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Norwich University women's lacrosse team fell to the Johnson & Wales Wildcats on Wednesday evening in their final regular season game of the year, as the Wildcats completed a perfect 10-0 season in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play. 

Norwich snagged the first goal of the game when freshman Kathryn Preul (Scottsdale, Ariz.) found the back of the net 15 seconds into the game of off an assist from classmate Emily Schromm (North Attleboro, Mass.). 

After that, the game quickly turned into an offensive clinic for the powerhouse Wildcats, as they outscored the Cadets 13-4 in the first half. There were no halftime adjustments the Cadets could make to counteract the JWU attack, as the Wildcats outscored Norwich 10-0 in the second half to cruise to the 23-4 victory.

Goal scorers for Norwich included Preul, Schromm, Meaghan McGrath (Barre, Vt.), and Mary-Kait Mace (Canton, N.Y.), while Lawson Hayes (Moorestown, N.J.) made nine saves in goal. Raquel Pederzani had a monster 10 point game for the Wildcats via six goals and four assists on the night. 

With the loss, Norwich wraps up the 2018 season with an even 7-7 record overall and a 5-5 mark within the GNAC. The Cadets will enter the GNAC postseason as the #6 seed and will travel to take on the #3 seeded Mount Ida Mustangs on Saturday.
