BOSTON, Mass. – With four Cadets reaching hat trick status in Wednesday night's game under the lights against Emmanuel College, the Norwich women's lacrosse won another big conference game on the road, as they defeated the Saints 21-3.
Freshmen Grace Fitzpatrick and Courtney Saheim, and juniors Lindsey Mathias and Kacey Abbriano each scored three points apiece in the night's action.
Juniors Danielle Del Dotto, Lori Baldassara, and Suzanne Whitaker and freshman Emily Shrum netted two goals each, while freshman Meghan Grenier wrapped up the Norwich scorers with her point.
Saheim led with two assists in the action, while Abbriano picked up the team-best eight ground balls and led with four caused turnovers. In net, junior Meghan Kennedy protected the pipes with nine saves, advancing her record to 2-0 on the season.
The Cadets dominated the play as they outshot the Saints 40-16, shutting out their hosts 13-0 at the half. Emmanuel revived in the second half, denying Kennedy the shutout with three goals, but Norwich tallied another eight over the second 30 minute set of action.
The Cadets were 11 for 11 on clears, while the Saints struggled to gain five of eight advances into their visitor's defensive zone.
Norwich advances to 4-1 on the season and remain undefeated in GNAC action, leading the standings with a 4-0 record.
