Box Score WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The Cadets put on quite a show when they traveled to Saint Joseph (Conn.) on Wednesday afternoon, as they humbled the Blue Jays with a 23-3 defeat.
Norwich (2-1, 2-0 GNAC) had 11 players find the back of the net in the afternoon game, as they were already leading 14-0 at the half.
Junior captain Kacey Abbriano found the back of the net on four occasions to lead Norwich in their dominant victory. The Fitzpatrick sisters teamed up to each record a hat trick in the game, as did freshman Courtney Saheim. Freshman Grace Fitzpatrick finished with three goals, three ground balls and one caused turnover, as her sister, junior Mollie Fitzpatrick wrapped up her stats with an additional assist to give her four points.
Junior Meghan Kennedy stood as the last line of defense, as the goaltender set aside four shots in the action.
The Cadets owned the game in its duration, outshooting the Blue Jays 24-1 in the first half, finishing with a 36-6 shooting advantage. Norwich collected 10 ground balls to St. Joseph's four, and committed six less turnovers over the course of the game than their opponent.
Norwich will look to continue advancing their success when they travel to Rivier on Saturday at 1 p.m.
