BABSON PARK, Mass. - Anne Marie Vayda won three
swimming events, but it was not enough as the Norwich University
swimming and diving team lost to Babson College, 123-83, on
Saturday afternoon.
Vayda won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.17), the 200-yard
breaststroke (2:32.45) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:22.57)
to lead the way for the Cadets.
Elsewhere, Brittany Burns took gold in the 500-yard freestyle
(6:53.89) and Janice Knoop captured the 100-yard butterfly
(1:11.61).
Meanwhile, the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Grace
Steinbrenner, Dana Wanjon, Molly Patterson and Felicia Jones won
the first-place ribbon with a time of 4:25.54.
Norwich gets back in the pool on Saturday, Jan. 23, when the
Cadets travel to Chicopee, Mass., to swim against Elms and Gordon.
The first events are set to get under way at 1 p.m.
