Women's Swimming & Diving: Colby-Sawyer Defeats Norwich, 161-51

Results

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Anne-Marie Vayda had a hand in three victories in the pool, but it was not enough as the Norwich University women's swimming and diving team dropped a 161-51 decision to Colby-Sawyer College Saturday afternoon at Goodyear Pool.

Vayda led the Cadets (0-2) as the junior won the 100-yard butterfly (1 minute, 7.42 seconds) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.60). She then teamed with Grace Steinbrenner, Brittany Burns and Janice Knoop to help the Cadets win the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:59.97).

Felicia Jones (200-yard freestyle), Burns (50-yard backstroke) and Knoop (50-yard butterfly) all turned in second-place finishes for Norwich.

The Norwich women's swimming and diving team wraps up its season-opening homestand on Wednesday, Nov. 18, when the Cadets host St. Michael's College at Goodyear Pool at 4 p.m.
