FORT ANN, N.Y. - Ally Daniels scored a
game-high three goals and dished out two assists, and Jessica
Allmer netted two goals and had one assist to help lead the Norwich
University women's lacrosse team to a convincing 14-1 victory over
in-state rival Green Mountain College on Tuesday evening.
The Cadets, who have won five straight games following a 12-10
double overtime setback to New England College in the season
opener, improve to 5-1 on the season. Green Mountain College,
meanwhile, falls to 1-4 on the year.
Kathleen Hennessy scored two goals, and Ashley Haviland netted
one goal and a game-high three assists for NU, which built a 9-1
halftime lead and scored five more times in the second stanza.
Andrea Schmid scored one goal and chipped in one assist, while
Chelsea Martin, Alyssa Nicoloro, Nicole Kasanoff, Caitlin
Wohlschlegel and Stephanie Smith all notched one goal apiece. Dawn
McNulty rounded out the scoring for the Cadets with an assist.
Erin McGaffigan went the distance for Norwich in goal,
collecting four saves on the afternoon.
It marks the second straight game that NU has shutout its
opponent in the second half. On Sunday, Norwich outscored St.
Joseph (Conn.), 6-0, after the intermission.
Norwich returns to action on Saturday, April 5, when the Cadets
travel to Newton, Mass., to take on GNAC foe Lasell at 4 p.m.
