NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Anne Vayda had a hand in four
wins in the pool, and Natalie Hamblin was a part of three victories
as the Norwich women's swimming and diving team fell to St.
Michael's, 184-86, on Wednesday at Goodyear Pool.
For the first time all season, Norwich swept the relay events,
winning both the 200-yard medley and 200-yard freestyle relay
disciplines.
Vayda swept both breaststroke events, winning the 50-yard
discipline with a clocking of 34.22, and taking gold in the
100-yard race with a time of 1:14.83. The freshman then teamed with
Hamblin, Katie Edwards and Christine Doudell to take gold in the
200-yard medley relay, touching the wall in 2:04.72. The same
foursome also teamed up to win the 200-yard freestyle relay,
clocking a time of 1:52.76.
Hamblin picked up her third win of the day in the 50-yard
backstroke, taking first with a time of 31.06.
Norwich (0-4) will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 1, when
the Cadets travel to Boston, Mass., for the GNAC Championships.
