Men's Hockey NEHC Goalie of the Week Tom Aubrun

NEHC WEEK 3 REPORT

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Senior goalie Tom Aubrun (Chamonix, France) of the Norwich University men's ice hockey team earned his third straight New England Hockey Conference (NEHC) Goalie of the Week honor to open the 2019-20 season on Monday.

Aubrun stopped 56 of 57 shots he faced on the weekend to backstop Norwich to two victories over previously undefeated teams in a 2-1 win over Hobart and a 2-0 win over Skidmore.

Aubrun made 32 saves on 33 shots to stymie No. 5 Hobart's high-octane offense in a 2-1 victory. He then stopped all 24 shots he faced in Saturday's 2-0 win over Skidmore.

Aubrun has helped Norwich shutout four of its first five opponents and has surrendered just one goal the entire season in nearly 300 minutes played. He is 5-0-0 on the season with a 0.20 goals against average and a .992 save percentage, which leads NCAA Division III in every category.

Aubrun has now won seven NEHC Goalie of the Week awards after winning four last season and garnering the first three of this season.

Norwich retained its No. 1 ranking in the USCHO.com National Poll for the second straight week. The Cadets are 5-0-0 overall and 4-0-0 in NEHC play. NU returns home to Kreitzberg Arena to host Babson at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 and UMass Boston on Saturday, Nov. 23.
