WESTWOOD, Mass. – The Norwich University football team placed a program-record 10 student-athletes on the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) 2019 All-Academic list which was announced on Wednesday afternoon by the conference office.
A total of 110 student-athletes were named from the eight NEWMAC football teams. To make the team, honorees must have earned a minimum of a 3.5 cumulative GPA after the 2019 spring semester, achieved second-year academic status, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.
The representatives for Norwich University were the following ten student-athletes;
Martin Bailey (Bedford Corners, N.Y.) – Senior, majoring in Nursing
Jacob Barr (Walpole, Mass.) - Senior, majoring in Criminal Justice
Kevin Dougherty (Killingworth, Conn.) – Sophomore, majoring in Criminal Justice
Hunter Norz (Manville, N.J.) – Sophomore, majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering
Bas Osborn (Windsor, Calif.) – Sophomore, majoring in Criminal Justice
Chase Panza (Moorpark, Calif.) – Sophomore, majoring in Criminal Justice
Kevin Svarczkopf (Essex Junction, Vt.) - Graduate, majoring in Architecture
Clyde Tamburro (Elizabethtown, Pa.) - Junior, majoring in Computer Security and Information Assurance
Marshall Watters (Oakland, N.J.) – Senior, majoring in Criminal Justice
Nick Works (Sanford, Maine) – Sophomore, majoring in Engineering
This is the third NEWMAC All-Academic honor for Barr and Svarczkopf, and the second year for Tamburro. Norz, Osborn, Panza, and Works join the list in their first year of eligibility.
These ten student-athletes and the rest of the Cadets will close out the regular season this Saturday at home against WPI as they celebrate senior day in a NEWMAC game set for a noon start.
