Women's Lacrosse

Julia Steese begins her second season as an assistant coach at Norwich in 2011-12, working with the women’s soccer and women’s lacrosse teams.

Steese will assist NU women’s soccer and lacrosse head coach Beth Van Parys in a myriad of ways, to include game and practice preparation, recruiting and other administrative duties.

Steese arrives at Norwich after serving a one-year stint as the head girls’ lacrosse coach at Pembroke Academy in Pembroke, N.H. She has been on the staff of the Unitor Soccer School, which is hosted by Colby-Sawyer College in New London, N.H., since 2005.

The Wilmot, N.H., native was a three-year standout on both the soccer and lacrosse teams during her collegiate playing career at Colby-Sawyer. Steese, who was twice selected to the all-conference team in lacrosse, served as a co-captain of the soccer squad as a senior. She also participated in track and field as a senior, earning the team’s “Coach’s Award” for her efforts.

Steese holds a pair of New Hampshire Soccer Association coaching licenses, and was a member of Colby-Sawyer’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). She graduated from Colby-Sawyer College in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Child Development.
