Women's Hockey: Lortie named ECAC East Player of the Week

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) East announced on Monday night that sophomore forward Renee Lortie of the Norwich University women's hockey team was named the Player of the Week for the week ending Jan. 8.

Lortie (Cornwall, Ontario) scored two goals and added two assists to help lead the Cadets to a 9-0 rout over in-state foe Saint Michael's in ECAC East action on Friday night.

Lortie scored Norwich's second and fourth goals, both of which came during the Cadets' six-goal first period to put them well on their way to stretching their ECAC East regular season unbeaten streak to 30 straight games.

Lortie has 10 goals and seven assists on the season to rank fourth on the team with 17 points. Her 10 goals rank third on the squad as well.

Lortie will be looking to record her 50th career point when the Cadets host Saint Michael's on Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. at Kreitzberg Arena. She currently sits with 24 goals and 25 assists in 43 career games for the Maroon and Gold.
