Women's Basketball: Doyon Named GNAC Player Of The Week
NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference announced their Weekly Honors recipients on Monday night, naming senior women's basketball guard Karissa Doyon as Player of the Week for her standout performance versus Middlebury last Tuesday.
Doyon rose to the challenge of the NESCAC Middlebury Panthers by netting 20 points in the game, as she went 7-of-15 in shooting. Doyon shot a perfect 2-of-2 in 3-pointers and 4-of-4 from the line, while also contributing two rebounds, a steal, and one assist in the contest.
Norwich (1-3) will be hosting the annual Ed Hockenbury Classic, a weekend event for both the men's and women's basketball teams. The women will play Friday and Saturday, hosting Green Mountain at 6 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, the consolation game is scheduled for 1 p.m., followed by the championship at 3 p.m. The Cadets will either be playing Anna Maria or University of Maine – Machias.
