Men's Cross Country - Brown leads Cadets
WESTFIELD, MASS. – A pair of freshmen led the individual finishes for Norwich University's men's cross country team at Westfield State's James Earley Invitational Oct. 8.
Zach Brown (Scarborough, Me.) and Christian Cole (Lima, N.Y.) placed 61st and 88th respectively for Coach Nick Cooper's squad. Brown circled the course in 28:18.36, while Cole ended in 28:51.72. NU's third-lowest-placing runner was sophomore Richard Well (Fort Polk, La.) (30:15.55), as he ended 149th.
Norwich was among the top 20 team-wise. The Maroon and Gold totaled 498 points which was just 18 shy of the top 18. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy was the team champion with 67 points.
The Cadets conclude their pre-Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championships' schedule by running at the Western New England College Invitational Saturday, Oct. 15.
