Men's Tennis - Norwich opens season with win
CASTLETON, VT. – Straight-set wins in four of six singles matches and two of three doubles victories propelled Norwich University past Castleton State 8-1 March 3.
The Cadets' season-opening dual saw the quartet of senior Collin Hyte (Marblehead, Mass.), sophomore Christian Hoskey (St. Charles, Ill.), freshman Ryan Grindle (Essex Junction, Vt.) and senior Zach Reichelt (Manchester, Conn.) all post singles' sweeps. Hoskey, Grindle and Reichelt took it one step further with 6-0, 6-0 victories.
Hyte and Reichelt and Grindle and Hoskey produced respective doubles win at number one and number two slots. The remaining singles' victors were sophomore Joseph Dvorak (DeSoto, Kan.) and freshman Patrick Ogden (Madison, Ala.).
The Cadets return to the court for another in-state dual against Lyndon State March 21. The meeting with the Hornets is also Norwich's home opener.
