Men’s Basketball: Norwich Falls to Lasell in Season Finale, 88-64
NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Arthur Alexander scored a game-high 27 points on 9-of-14 shooting to lead the Lasell College men's basketball team past Norwich University 88-64 Saturday at Andrews Gymnasium. With the loss the Cadets end their season at 5-19 overall and 4-14 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.
Alexander connected on seven three-pointers for Lasell (12-13, 11-7 GNAC). The Lasers shot 43.3 percent (13-of-30) from beyond the arc for the contest.
Senior forward Antonio Davis (Albany, N.Y.) led the Cadets in his final game in the Maroon and Gold with 19 points. Sophomore guard Nickolai Havoutis (Coral Gables, Fla.) added 13 points of his own, going a perfect four-of-four from the floor and knocking down five of his six free throws. Senior guard Leland Brunswick (San Francisco, Calif.) scored eight points, pulled down a team-high nine rebounds and dished out a team-high five assists in his career finale.
Javon Williams (20 points) and Sean Bertanza (19 points) added double-digit scoring for LC, while Nate Disessa had a game-high eight assists.
Norwich led 37-34 at the break but could not carry the momentum into the second half, relinquishing the lead for good with 14:02 remaining in the contest. NU shot 36.1 percent (22-of-61) on the game while losing the rebounding battle by one (39-38).
